The MK Rose

On Friday 11th November we were invited to take a small group of children to a short Act of Remembrance for Armistice Day in Campbell Park.

Following the Act of Remembrance, the Mayor of Milton Keynes, Councillor Alan Richards, unveiled the 11:11 Pillar.  This is the first of the 140 pillars which will form part of the MK Rose, a joint project between the Milton Keynes Cenotaph Trust and The Parks Trust to create a place of memorial and celebration for the people of Milton Keynes.

Following the ceremony the children were invited to go for drinks at MK Gallery and to meet the Mayor. They even met Mr Pete Winkelman, the MK Dons Chairman. The whole event proved to be a memorable occasion and our pupils proved to be great ambassadors for BVS.

We do need to thank Mrs Muriel Moffoot who kindly organised the visit and Mr John Cove who kindly lent us, and drove, the MK Dons minibus
