IMPORTANT: Hot Weather Update - June 2026

Dear Parents/Carers,

Due to the forecast of extreme heat this week, we are making temporary adjustments to our uniform expectations for the remainder of the week. Children may attend school wearing their PE kit, including a plain white T-shirt or house-coloured T-shirt, and trainers if this is more comfortable. Please avoid cycling shorts, leggings or any other tightly fitting clothing.

Please ensure that:

  • Sunscreen is applied before school. Children may bring a named bottle of sunscreen to reapply themselves if needed.
  • Children bring a filled water bottle to school each day. If they do not have their school water bottle, please ensure they bring a named, non-spill sports cap bottle.
  • Children bring a sun hat if needed.

We will adapt outdoor play and physical activity as needed, including avoiding vigorous activity and direct sun during the hottest parts of the day.

Due to the forecast of extreme temperatures this week, we have also made the decision to cancel all after-school clubs for the remainder of the week (until 26/06/26).

The safety and wellbeing of our pupils and staff is our highest priority, and we believe this is the most appropriate course of action given the current weather conditions.

Please ensure that arrangements are made for your child to be collected at the end of the normal school day. Any pupils who would normally attend an after-school club will be dismissed at their usual finishing time.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

We will continue to monitor the temperatures and implement appropriate measures as necessary.

Thank you for your continued support.
