  • Dream Big Day 2025!

    Published 04/07/25

We held our very special Dream Big Day — a fantastic opportunity for children to start thinking about their futures, explore the world of work, and begin dreaming about the careers they might one day pursue.

The day was filled with exciting activities designed to get children thinking creatively and confidently about their ambitions.

A real highlight of the day was welcoming a number of parents into school to talk about the jobs they do. The children were fascinated to hear about the different career journeys and what each job involves. These talks truly brought the world of work to life and showed the children just how many paths there are to explore.

We would like to say a huge thank you to all the parents who kindly gave up their time to speak to the children. Your insight, enthusiasm, and willingness to share your experiences were truly inspiring and appreciated by staff and pupils alike.

Dream Big Day was a resounding success — and who knows, we may have sparked the first steps toward some future engineers, detectives, nursery nurses or IT technicians!

This is what the children said:

“It was amazing and it was very inspiring.”

“I liked how it made me think about the future.”

“I enjoyed learning about the railways.”

“It was really fun and interesting to learn about all the jobs.”

  • Willen Hospice Fundraiser!

    Published 03/04/25

The children worked so hard, pushing themselves to complete as many laps around the school playground as possible, to raise money for Willen hospice. Pictured above is Millie, who managed to raise an amazing £150 receiving her prizes from the ladies that visited us from Willen this morning.

Collectively, the children managed to run a huge total of 4600 laps. They smashed the target of 26.2 miles!

We are all so very proud of them and Mrs Young will definitely think of their motivation and perseverance while she is running the London marathon on 27th April for Willen Hospice.

  • Healthier Together Website Link

    Published 25/03/24

The Healthier Together website is a digital resource designed to support children, young people and their parents/carers. It aims to empower parents and carers – giving them the right tools to manage their children and young people’s physical health and emotional well-being. In addition, it has a lot of information for young people to access and use for themselves.

The section for Parents/Carers covers key areas such as ‘Should my child go to school/nursery today’, information on a range of common illnesses and childhood vaccinations, in addition to a large section on SEND. Another section entitled Health for Young People speaks directly to young people and provides information on mental health, sexual health and LGBTQ+ issues.

Thanks to a functionality called Recite Me, the site is also accessible to people who may be disabled, visually impaired, speak English as a second language or are elderly. The web content can be translated into over 100 different languages.

  • Brilliant Club- Reading University Trip

    Published 07/03/24

After weeks of tutorials and submitting a 1000-word essay, The Brilliant Club went to the University of Reading for their graduation. This involved the children taking part in a reflection session, listening to some students talk about life at university and a tour of the campus before the main event. Ethan and Sophie spoke fantastically about their experiences as a member of the Brilliant Club. The children were amazing and participated brilliantly in all the activities. They should all feel very proud of themselves for their achievement.
